Mindfulness and Meditation for Caregivers

If you’re a caregiver, you’ve probably heard that you “can’t pour from an empty cup”
or that “you need to put your own oxygen mask on first” when balancing caregiving responsibilities while trying to care for yourself.

You also know that while it’s not easy to carve out time for yourself while you’re caring for others, on some level, you do know that it’s essential for a healthy well-being.

In my program, “Mindfulness and Meditation for Caregivers,” we talk about how to be mindful, what meditation is (and isn’t) and how to realistically weave meditation into your day. I also share three simple meditation techniques that you can call upon during stressful times, or anytime. A fun, mindful eating exercise is also included!

While this program is ideal for groups, it can also be presented one-on-one. Virtual options are available. For more information—or to bring this program to your group setting—email me at: Christine.Krahling@gmail.com.

FAQs

  • I’ve been moderating book club discussions--including hosting authors as special guests--for more than 20 years. I also hosted a 35-episode podcast—Bloom Where You Are Planted--in which I interviewed authors, therapists, coaches, and businesspeople, among others. (Fun fact: My one-year podcast anniversary episode guest was Joan Lunden!)

I do my research. If your guest has written a book, rest assured I will have read it, dog-eared the pages and highlighted important passages to devise thought-provoking questions.

  • Since completing a Certificate in Wellness Counseling from Cornell University in 2021, I’ve been leading community wellness programs and women’s mini-retreats and workshop sessions that have soothed many a soul. I’ve also been published on health and wellness topics. Plus, I’ve got a knack for “reading the room,” and encouraging interactive discussions, even if this is the first time your group has come together.

  • Self-care workshops with a sensory activity are popular, as are journaling and meditation sessions. I can also lead an interactive discussion based on nonfiction book topics, such as Brene Brown’s Daring Greatly, during which we’d talk about the importance of being vulnerable in our daily lives, for example. Each program is customized to your group. Tell me about your participants and I’ll put together a program tailored to their needs and interests.

  • That depends on what you’re looking for--I have a bunch of contacts in the publishing biz, (and elsewhere) so we can certainly put our heads together to come up with a guest that meets your needs and audience demographics. Proposals can include a fee to book talent if necessary.

  • My rates are competitive, yet fair, and I offer a nonprofit rate as well for those organizations that qualify.

Small budget? No problem! Virtual events are always an option.
